If you wore men’s fragrance in the 1990s, there is a good chance these two names will bring back a few memories.

Azzaro Chrome and Calvin Klein Obsession for Men come from two very different sides of men’s fragrance, but both were a big part of the fragrance landscape I remember from the 90s.

And on the final day of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, both are heavily discounted.

Azzaro Chrome is currently 25% off, while Calvin Klein Obsession for Men has an even bigger 40% discount.

I have a personal connection with both fragrances. Chrome remains one of my favourite men's fragrances and is something I still wear today. Obsession is different. I wore it regularly back in the 90s, when it seemed to be everywhere, and I returned to it again a couple of years ago.

If you remember either of these fragrances — or you're curious about what men were wearing three decades ago — these are two Prime Big Deal Days offers worth looking at before the sale ends tonight.

Azzaro Chrome – 25% Off

Of the two fragrances here, Azzaro Chrome is easily the one I still wear most often today.

I've worn Chrome on and off since my early 30s and somehow I keep returning to that familiar blue bottle, particularly when the weather gets warmer.

There is something incredibly easy about Chrome.

It opens with a bright mix of citrus, including lemon and bergamot, combined with rosemary, pineapple and neroli. But the part that makes Chrome instantly recognisable to me is that slightly metallic freshness running through it.

It smells clean. Fresh. Almost like putting on a crisp white T-shirt after a shower.

As it dries down, it becomes softer and more musky and woody, with cedar, sandalwood, cardamom and tonka bean adding a little warmth without making the fragrance heavy.

And despite its age, I don't think Chrome smells particularly dated.

In fact, that is probably one of the reasons it has survived so well.

A lot of fragrances from the period can immediately transport you back several decades. Chrome still feels remarkably easy to wear in 2026. A white T-shirt, linen shirt, jeans, summer holiday, office — it just works.

Performance has also been surprisingly good for me. I normally get around five to six hours on my skin, sometimes longer, which I consider perfectly respectable for such a fresh fragrance.

And importantly, I still get compliments when wearing it.

That's ultimately why Chrome remains one of my favourites. There are newer, more expensive and more sophisticated fragrances in my collection, but sometimes I simply want something clean and uncomplicated.

Chrome does that exceptionally well.

With 25% off for Prime Big Deal Days, it's also considerably cheaper than many of the modern fragrances competing for the same space.

Calvin Klein Obsession for Men – 40% Off

Now we go in almost the opposite direction.

If Chrome represents the fresh and clean side of 90s men's fragrance, Calvin Klein Obsession for Men represents something much warmer, richer and spicier.

Obsession actually arrived before the 90s, but by the time I was wearing it during that decade it had become an established men's fragrance classic.

And I wore it a lot.

Smelling it again is one of those fragrance experiences that immediately connects me with a particular period of my life. That's one of the fascinating things about fragrance. A bottle can sit untouched for years, but one spray can bring back memories remarkably quickly.

Obsession is built around notes including cinnamon, lavender, coriander and citrus, moving into a warm heart of myrrh, nutmeg and spice before drying down into amber, vanilla, sandalwood, musk, patchouli and vetiver.

It is rich, warm and unmistakably masculine.

This isn't a modern fresh "blue" fragrance, and it certainly doesn't smell anything like Chrome.

That's exactly what I like about it.

There is something unapologetically old-school about Obsession. It has character. You smell it and immediately know you're wearing a proper fragrance rather than something designed simply to be pleasant and inoffensive.

I bought it again around two years ago, many years after wearing it regularly in the 90s, and just having that bottle around again was wonderfully nostalgic.

And October is actually a much better time for Obsession than it would be for Chrome.

The cinnamon, amber, woods and spices work particularly well as the weather gets cooler. If you're looking for an affordable autumn or winter fragrance, it still makes a lot of sense today.

At 40% off for Prime Big Deal Days, it is also the biggest fragrance discount of these two.

Two Completely Different Sides of 90s Men's Fragrance

Putting these two fragrances together also shows just how varied men's fragrance became during that period.

Obsession is warm, spicy, bold and sensual.

Chrome is bright, fresh, clean and airy.

If I were choosing between them purely for everyday wear today, I would personally pick Chrome. It remains one of my favourite fragrances and I still find it incredibly easy to wear.

But Obsession offers something that Chrome can't: that unmistakable warm, spicy character and, for anyone who wore it years ago, a serious dose of nostalgia.

It also feels particularly appropriate heading into autumn and winter.

And perhaps that's why both fragrances are still around.

Neither one needs to imitate whatever happens to be fashionable in men's fragrance in 2026. They already have their own identity.

Last Chance: Prime Big Deal Days Ends Today

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days ends today, October 7, so these discounts won't necessarily be around for long.

At the time of writing, Azzaro Chrome is 25% off and Calvin Klein Obsession for Men is 40% off.

For me, Chrome would be the obvious choice if you're looking for a clean, versatile fragrance that still works beautifully today.

Obsession is the more nostalgic option — warmer, richer and almost completely opposite in character.

But perhaps the nicest thing about these two deals is that you don't need to spend $100 or more to enjoy a fragrance with some genuine history and personality.

Sometimes the classics still get it right.
