I have a fairly simple taste when it comes to trainers. Give me a clean pair of white sneakers, preferably something minimalist, and I’m happy. Chunky running shoes are not normally the first thing I reach for.
So when Allswifit sent me a pair of their ActiveSolid slip-on running shoes/sneakers to review, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. They have a substantial sole and a sportier shape than my usual trainers. But after wearing the white pair, I have to admit that the design has grown on me. More importantly, they are among the most comfortable sneakers I have worn in a very long time. In fact, I would go as far as saying they are the most comfortable pair I have ever tried.
A Chunky Design That Actually Works
The ActiveSolid has that modern, cushioned running-shoe look, with a thick sole and a breathable mesh upper. It is not a discreet, minimalist sneaker, and I wouldn’t pretend otherwise. However, the white colour makes the design feel clean and surprisingly easy to wear.
I actually like the contrast between the chunky shape and the simple colour. They look sporty without being too loud, and I can see myself wearing them with casual trousers, shorts or jeans. They are not going to replace my smarter white sneakers for every occasion, but for everyday casual wear, I have become quite fond of them.
The Slip-On System Is Genuinely Convenient
I love the Slip-on design.
I have owned slip-on sneakers from Skechers before, so I was interested to see how Allswifit’s system would compare. In my experience, it works just as well. You can slide your feet in without the usual bending down and adjusting, which is a small convenience that becomes rather useful when you are putting your shoes on several times a day.
The difference, for me, is what happens once they are on. The Allswifits take comfort to another level.
Comfort Is Where These Sneakers Really Shine
Allswifit uses a high-density foam insole and a bouncy EVA midsole, along with a breathable mesh lining and a rubber outsole. Those are the technical details, but what matters is how they feel in real life.
The cushioning is quite remarkable. There is a soft, supportive feeling underfoot that makes walking feel noticeably more comfortable. I can wear these sneakers all day long, whether I am out and about, walking around town or simply getting on with a busy day. They are the kind of shoes you put on in the morning and forget about because your feet are so comfortable.
I have tried plenty of trainers over the years, including some very comfortable pairs, but these have genuinely surprised me. I did not expect a relatively chunky slip-on shoe to become one of my favourite pairs for everyday wear.
Walking Marlow… and the Occasional Run
I should make one thing clear: I am not a runner. I am not going to pretend I have tested these over hundreds of kilometres or that I can give you a serious analysis of running performance.
What I do enjoy is walking Marlow, and occasionally, when we are out, I will go for a little run. That is where the ActiveSolid really surprised me. The cushioning feels fantastic when I pick up the pace, and the whole experience is so comfortable that I have found myself enjoying those little runs more than I expected.
Oh my, the difference is noticeable. They make me feel like going a little further, even though I am still very much an occasional runner. For someone like me, who wants one pair of trainers for walking all day and the odd bit of running, that versatility is exactly what I appreciate.
The thick cushioning is the standout feature for me. These are among the comfiest trainers I’ve worn in a very long time.
Are There Any Downsides?
The main consideration is the design. If you only wear slim, classic white trainers, the ActiveSolid may look a little bulky at first. I certainly had that reaction. The thick sole is part of what makes them so comfortable, though, and I have come to appreciate the look.
I also cannot comment on how they will perform after months of serious running, because that is not how I use them. My experience is based on everyday wear, long walks and occasional short runs.
Final Thoughts
The Allswifit ActiveSolid has been one of those pleasant surprises that reminds me not to judge a pair of sneakers purely by how they look in the box. I expected a comfortable, practical slip-on shoe. What I found was a pair that I genuinely look forward to wearing.
They are easy to put on, comfortable enough for an entire day, and the cushioning makes walking and occasional running a real pleasure. The chunky design may not be my usual style, but I actually like it now, especially in white.
If comfort is your priority and you want a versatile pair of sneakers for everyday life, these are well worth considering. For me, they are the comfiest sneakers I have tried in a very long time—and quite possibly the most comfortable pair I have ever owned.
