Manscaped Skin Ultra Review: 3 Weeks With the Full Range
The Manscaped Skin Ultra skincare range tested together, including face wash, moisturiser, serum and lip balm.
Disclosure: Manscaped sent me the Face Wash, Brightening Serum, Face Moisturizer, lip balm and the face buffer for review purposes. Manscaped is best known for body grooming, but the brand has been moving further into men’s skincare with its Skin Ultra range. I wanted to know whether these products were actually worth using every day, or whether they were just another extension of the Manscaped name.
For this review, I replaced my usual morning skincare routine for three weeks and used the Manscaped Skin Ultra Face Wash, Brightening Serum, Face Moisturizer, Lip Balm and Face Buffer together. I have been reviewing men’s skincare for over 13 years, and before becoming a full-time blogger I also worked in pharmacy, where I often helped men choose products for dry, oily, sensitive or ageing skin.
So this is not just a quick first impression. This is my honest Manscaped Skin Ultra review after using the full skincare range properly, every morning, on 52-year-old skin that needs hydration, comfort and products that do not feel greasy or overcomplicated.
Is Manscaped Skin Ultra Worth It?
Yes, I think Manscaped Skin Ultra is worth it if you want a simple men’s skincare routine that feels more refined than basic supermarket products but does not move into expensive premium skincare. The Face Wash and Face Buffer are the standout combination for me, while the Face Moisturizer is the product I would keep using daily. The Brightening Serum is also good value if your skin looks tired or dull.
Quick Verdict
| Face Wash | ~$20 | Lightweight, non-stripping — brilliant with the silicone buffer |
| Brightening Serum | ~$22 | Noticeably brightens and tightens — a little goes a long way |
| Face Moisturizer | ~$22 | Rich without being greasy — keeps skin hydrated all day |
| Lip Balm | Pack of 3 | Matte finish, no shine — perfect for everyday use |
All opinions based on 3 weeks of daily morning use, replacing my usual products entirely.
What Is Manscaped Skin Ultra?
Manscaped Skin Ultra is the brand’s men’s skincare range, designed to sit alongside its better-known grooming tools. Instead of focusing on shaving, trimming or body grooming, Skin Ultra is about daily face care.
The range includes products such as the Skin Ultra Face Wash, Brightening Serum, Face Moisturizer, Lip Balm and Face Buffer. Used together, they create a simple routine for men who want cleaner, smoother and better hydrated skin without using too many complicated products.
What I like about the idea is that it feels very Manscaped. The products are straightforward, easy to understand and clearly aimed at men who may not already have a proper skincare routine. It is not trying to be a luxury spa brand. It is trying to make skincare feel easy, practical and more natural as part of your morning routine.
How I Tested
- Duration: 3 weeks of daily morning use — replaced my entire usual routine.
- Routine: Face Wash with silicone buffer → Brightening Serum → Face Moisturizer → Lip Balm.
- Skin type: 52-year-old skin — needs extra hydration and daily care.
- Compared against: L'Oréal Men Expert Hydra Energetic moisturiser and Wake Up Face Wash.
- What I looked for: Feel, scent, hydration throughout the day, brightness, and whether the products caused any irritation.
1. Manscaped Face Wash Review
Testing the Manscaped Face Wash with The Face Buffer to see how it works in a real routine
At around $20, the Manscaped Face Wash is not targeted at the premium market, but it's not a budget product either. After three weeks of daily use, I think the price is spot on.
What makes this face wash stand out is how well it pairs with the silicone face buffer. Wet the buffer, wet your face, apply the face wash onto the buffer, and massage. The result is incredibly smooth, fresh skin — I felt a brightening effect immediately. Without the buffer, it's a good face wash. With it, it's genuinely impressive.
The formula is lightweight and non-stripping. My skin never felt dry or tight afterwards, which matters a lot as you get older. The scent — fresh green with light woods — is pleasant and perfect for the morning. Not overpowering, not synthetic. Just clean.

Manscaped doesn't mention if the ingredients are natural or organic, so I would assume they're not. But I didn't get any skin irritation or allergy during three weeks of daily use.
Face Wash vs L'Oréal Men Expert Wake Up Face Wash
The L'Oréal Wake Up Face Wash is a solid product — slightly cheaper, smells great, and does the job. But the scent is significantly stronger. I like it personally, but I can see it being too much for some men, especially early in the morning. The Manscaped scent is more subtle and refined. On performance, they're close. On overall daily experience, I prefer the Manscaped — especially with that silicone buffer.
2. Manscaped Face Brightening Serum Review
Testing the Manscaped Skin Ultra Brightening Serum as part of my daily men’s skincare routine.
The next step was the Manscaped Brightening Serum. And for any guy who doesn't use a serum before moisturiser — you're missing out. I think a face serum is essential in a daily skincare routine. A great serum helps keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay and brightens your skin, especially if you opt for a vitamin C formula.
No, a serum won't make deep wrinkles disappear. Nothing topical does that. But the overall appearance of your skin will look better — smoother, fresher, more alive. And that's exactly what happens with this one.
As soon as I apply it and wait a few minutes, I can feel my skin get slightly tighter and definitely brighter. I've tried a lot of serums over the years, and this one is a really nice one. At around $22 it's well priced, and because you only need a little, it will last a long time.

Again, the Manscaped formula works well here. Great price, nice formula, visible results. Nothing flashy, straight to the point — and I like that.
3. Manscaped Face Moisturizer Review
Testing the Manscaped Skin Ultra Face Moisturizer, one of the key products in the range.
The last step of my Manscaped morning routine is the face moisturizer, and again, this is a very solid product.
I love the scent — consistent with the rest of the range, that fresh green and light woods note. The consistency is more on the rich side, which I prefer. I find this better than a more liquid moisturizer. My skin — I'm 52, so I need extra moisturising — feels hydrated all day, which is quite impressive.
Used with the face serum, after a week I noticed my skin felt smoother, brighter, and less thirsty. That's a genuine result.

Moisturiser vs L'Oréal Men Expert Hydra Energetic
I like the L'Oréal Men Expert Hydra Energetic. It's a good moisturizer — absorbs well, feels light, and does the job. But my skin stays moisturised noticeably longer with the Manscaped formula. The L'Oréal feels good for a few hours; the Manscaped keeps my skin feeling hydrated well into the afternoon. For older skin that needs more from a daily moisturizer, that matters.
4. Manscaped Lip Balm Review
The Manscaped Lip Balm is a small but useful part of the daily grooming routine.
Finally, before leaving the house, I apply the Manscaped Lip Balm.
I don't talk about lip balm much on the blog, and I probably should — especially with weather like we have in the UK. It can be hot, then suddenly windy, raining, dry, humid. A great lip balm helps.
I love how this one feels, and the fact that it's not glossy is a big win. It moisturises without looking like you're wearing lip gloss. The matte finish is perfect for everyday use. The peppermint and eucalyptus oil give it a subtle, refreshing tingle without being overpowering.

The Full Set – Best Value
If you're planning to try the whole range, Manscaped sells the face wash, serum, and moisturiser as a set — and it works out cheaper than buying them individually.
The Manscaped Skin Ultra skincare range tested for my review, including the face wash, moisturiser, brightening serum, lip balm and Face Buffer.
Also Worth Adding: The Silicone Face Buffer
I mentioned this in the face wash section, but it deserves its own mention. The silicone face buffer is what elevates the face wash from good to genuinely impressive. If you buy the face wash, get the buffer too. It's a small investment that makes a noticeable difference.
Final Verdict
After three weeks of using the Manscaped skincare range every morning, I'm genuinely impressed. These are well-formulated, fairly priced products that do exactly what they claim — nothing more, nothing less.
The face wash with the silicone buffer is a standout combination. The serum visibly brightens and tightens. The moisturizer keeps my 52-year-old skin hydrated all day — noticeably longer than the L'Oréal Men Expert Hydra Energetic I've used before. And the lip balm is a simple, effective finisher with a matte finish that doesn't look glossy.
Compared to L'Oréal Men Expert, the Manscaped range feels slightly more refined. The scents are more subtle, the formulas feel a bit more considered, and the results last longer throughout the day. If you want to step up your daily routine without jumping to premium skincare prices, Manscaped hits a sweet spot.
These products won't reverse ageing. Nothing topical does. But they will keep your skin clean, hydrated, and looking healthier — and for around $20 per product, that's exactly what you should expect.

Why You Can Trust This Review
I've been reviewing men's skincare for over 12 years on Dapper & Groomed. Before that, I spent several years working as a healthcare assistant in pharmacy — so I understand ingredients, skin sensitivity, and what happens when a product doesn't deliver on its promises.
This review is based on three weeks of daily morning use, replacing my usual products entirely. Manscaped sent me these products for review, but they had no input on this article and did not see it before publishing. Everything here reflects my honest experience.
