Olight Oclip Pro S Review: Tested Camping and Dog Walking (2026)
The Olight Oclip Pro S has a compact body, but the front light setup makes it far more capable than its size suggests.

I am not going to pretend I am a professional torch reviewer.
I review skincare, grooming products, fragrance, tech, audio gear and lifestyle products for men. Torches are not usually my main world. But last year, when I reviewed the Olight Baton 4, I realised something quite simple: a good torch can quietly become part of your daily life.
The Baton 4 changed my evening walks with Marlow. It was small, powerful, beautifully made and reassuring to carry when the lanes around Bristol turned dark.
The Olight Oclip Pro S feels different.
It is still small. It is still powerful. It still has that very polished Olight feel. But the real difference is the clip. And after taking it camping in Devon with my family and our Cocker Spaniel Marlow, I can say this without trying to sound dramatic: the clip is the feature that makes this torch so useful.
We recently stayed at Cofton Holidays in Devon, and like most camping trips, there were plenty of moments when I needed light but also needed my hands free. Walking back to the tent at night. Taking Marlow out. Finding things in bags. Moving around the campsite without using my phone torch like a confused tourist.
That is where the Oclip Pro S made sense.
It is not just a tiny torch. It is a tiny light you can attach to yourself, your bag, your hoodie, your tent, or anything magnetic. And in real life, that matters more than an impressive spec sheet.
Quick Verdict
The Olight Oclip Pro S is one of those small pieces of gear that makes more sense once you actually use it. On paper, it's a compact 5-in-1 clip torch. In real life, it's a very practical little light for camping, dog walking, travelling, DIY, and everyday use around the house.
The clever clip is the star of the show. I used it attached to my hoodie while walking Marlow, and it worked brilliantly. Powerful enough for evening walks, small enough to forget you're carrying it, and the build quality feels properly premium. The only small issue — it attracts insects when clipped close to your chest on summer evenings. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing.
The built-in clip is the real strength of the Oclip Pro S, especially when you need hands-free light.
What Is the Olight Oclip Pro S?
The Olight Oclip Pro S is a compact clip torch designed for everyday carry, camping, dog walking, outdoor use, hands-free tasks and small emergencies.
It has several lighting options, including a powerful white light, UV light and RGB modes. It also has a clip, a magnetic mounting option and USB-C charging.
That makes it more versatile than a traditional small torch.
You can hold it like a normal torch, clip it to your clothes, attach it to a backpack strap, hang it inside a tent or stick it to a metal surface when you need both hands free.
That is the point of this product. It is not trying to be the biggest or most powerful torch in the world. It is trying to be the small light you actually carry, actually use, and actually remember to take with you.
And that is exactly how I used it.
The Clip Is the Game Changer
The clever clip is the reason I like this torch so much.
With a normal torch, even a very small one, one of your hands is always occupied. That is fine when you are walking alone. But when you have a dog lead in one hand, a poo bag in the other, or you are trying to open a tent zip in the dark, it becomes less convenient.
The Oclip Pro S solves that problem.
I clipped it to my hoodie and used it as a hands-free walking light. I also clipped it to my t-shirt during warmer evenings. It stayed in place well, and the position was practical enough to light the path in front of me.
For camping, this is genuinely useful. You can clip it inside the tent, attach it to your clothes, or keep it on a bag strap when walking around the campsite at night.
It feels like the kind of product that was designed by someone who actually understands small daily frustrations.
The clip is not a gimmick. It changes how you use the torch.
The rear clip feels sturdy and turns this small torch into a genuinely practical everyday carry light.
How I Tested
Took it camping with my family and our Cocker Spaniel Marlow at Cofton Holidays in Devon
Used it for evening dog walks around the lanes near Bristol
Clipped it to my hoodie, t-shirt, and bag strap for hands-free use
Tested white light, red light, UV, and RGB modes
Compared it directly with the Olight Baton 4, which I reviewed last year
Perfect for Camping
Camping made me appreciate the Oclip Pro S more than I expected.
A phone torch works, of course. But using your phone as a torch while camping is never ideal. You drain the battery, you risk dropping it, and the light is often too harsh or awkwardly placed.
A proper small torch is better.
A proper small torch with a clip is better again.
At Cofton Holidays, the Oclip Pro S was easy to keep nearby. It was small enough to carry without thinking about it, but powerful enough to feel useful. I did not need to search for it at the bottom of a bag because I could clip it somewhere accessible.
This is the kind of product I would now pack for every camping trip.
Not because it is exciting in a flashy way. But because it removes little problems. And camping is full of little problems.
When you are walking back to the tent in the dark with children, bags, tired legs and a dog, the last thing you want is to be messing around with your phone. You want a small, reliable light that just works.
The Oclip Pro S does that very well.
Great for Walking the Dog
If you walk your dog in the evening, especially in the countryside or on darker streets, a good torch makes a huge difference.
I already learned that with the Olight Baton 4. That torch became part of my evening routine with Marlow because it gave me a strong, reassuring beam in a very small body.
The Oclip Pro S brings something slightly different.
The Baton 4 is more of a classic compact torch. You hold it in your hand, and it feels solid, direct and powerful. The Oclip Pro S is more flexible. You can still hold it, but the real benefit is being able to clip it onto your clothing and keep your hands free.
For dog walking, that is a big advantage.
With Marlow, I often need one hand for the lead and another for whatever glamorous task dog ownership requires at that exact moment. Having the torch clipped to my hoodie makes the walk easier.
It is powerful enough for normal evening walks. It gives me enough light to see the path, check where Marlow is walking, and feel more visible.
For winter walks, I think it will be even better.
The One Small Problem: Insects
There is one small issue I noticed.
When I used the Oclip Pro S clipped to my t-shirt or hoodie during summer evening walks, the light attracted insects.
That is not exactly shocking. Bright light. Warm evening. Countryside. Insects. The maths is quite simple.
But when the light is attached close to your chest, the insects come close to you as well. It is not ideal if you are walking through lanes or near fields in summer.
Is this a deal-breaker? No.
Not at all.
It is a small inconvenience, and it will probably be less of an issue in colder months. You can also hold the torch in your hand instead, clip it lower, or use a different mode depending on the situation.
But I always prefer to mention these little real-life details because they are the things you only discover when you actually use a product outside.
The torch is fantastic. It just happens to be fantastic enough to attract the attention of half the insect population on a summer evening.
White Light Performance
The white light is the mode I used the most.
It is bright enough for camping, walking the dog, finding things in the dark and using around the house. I did not feel underpowered when using it on evening walks, and I did not need anything bigger for normal everyday use.
That is important because many small torches look clever but do not give enough useful light. The Oclip Pro S does.
The beam is practical rather than theatrical. It gives you usable light where you need it. For me, that matters more than having a torch that looks impressive for five seconds and then becomes awkward to use.
For camping and dog walking, I want simple, reliable light.
This gives me that.
Red Light, UV and RGB Modes
The Oclip Pro S also includes red light, UV and RGB lighting.
I did not use the red light much during my testing, so I do not want to pretend it became a major part of my routine. But I can see why it would be useful.
Red light can be helpful at night when you do not want to blast everyone with bright white light. For camping, that makes sense. If you need to move around the tent or check something without disturbing the mood too much, red light has a place.
The RGB modes are more specialist. Some people will use them for visibility, marking, creative lighting, photography, or just because they like having options. I did not rely on them heavily, but I do appreciate that they are there.
The UV light is another feature that some people will find genuinely useful, especially for inspection tasks. Again, it was not the main reason I enjoyed the torch, but it adds to the versatility.
For me, the Oclip Pro S is not great because it has lots of modes.
It is great because the basic idea works: small torch, strong light, clever clip, easy to carry.
The extra modes are a bonus.
Design and Build Quality
After reviewing the Baton 4 last year, I already had a good impression of the brand. Olight seems to understand that small gear still needs to feel well made. The Oclip Pro S has that same sense of careful design.
It feels compact but not cheap. Practical but not boring. Small but not fragile.
The size is one of its strengths. It is easy to throw into a bag, keep in a pocket, attach to a strap, or leave somewhere useful at home. It does not feel like another bulky gadget you need to make room for.
And that is important.
The best everyday carry products are the ones you do not have to think about too much. They are just there when you need them.
The Oclip Pro S and Baton 4 are both compact Olight torches, but they serve slightly different purposes.
Olight Oclip Pro S vs Olight Baton 4
This is where things become interesting.
Last year, I reviewed the Olight Baton 4 and really enjoyed it. It felt like a proper compact flashlight. Small, powerful, beautifully built and ideal for evening walks with Marlow.
The Baton 4 is probably the one I would choose if I wanted a more traditional torch experience. It feels great in the hand, and there is something very satisfying about using it on a dark walk.
The Oclip Pro S is different.
It feels more practical for situations where you need both hands free. Camping is the obvious example. Dog walking is another. DIY jobs, power cuts, car checks, attic spaces, and travel would also make sense.
So I would not say one replaces the other completely.
The Baton 4 feels like the better classic flashlight.
The Oclip Pro S feels like the more versatile lifestyle torch.
If I am going for a simple evening walk and want something solid in my hand, I still love the Baton 4. If I am camping, walking Marlow while carrying other things, or doing anything where I need hands-free light, I would choose the Oclip Pro S.
That clip really does change the way you use it.

Who Is the Olight Oclip Pro S For?
The Olight Oclip Pro S makes sense if you want a small torch that can do more than sit in your hand.
I think it is particularly good for:
Dog walkers
Campers
People who travel often
Anyone who wants a useful torch in the car
Men who like practical everyday carry gear
DIY jobs around the house
Power cuts
Walking at night
Keeping in a backpack or jacket pocket
It is also a good gift idea because it is useful without being boring.
Some gadgets feel like they are made to be opened, admired for five minutes, and then forgotten in a drawer. This does not feel like that. It feels like something most people would actually use.
Clipped to my t-shirt , the Oclip Pro S becomes very useful for dog walks, camping and hands-free tasks at night.
Final Verdict
The Olight Oclip Pro S surprised me in the same way the Baton 4 surprised me last year.
I did not expect to care that much about a torch. But once you use a well-designed one in real life, especially during dog walks and camping trips, you understand the appeal.
For me, the Oclip Pro S is not just about brightness. It is about convenience.
The clip is the reason this torch works so well. It turns a small light into something much more practical. You can wear it, attach it, hang it, carry it, or use it like a normal torch.
During our camping trip in Devon with Marlow, it made perfect sense. And now, for evening walks, it is one of those small pieces of gear I like having nearby.
It is not perfect. The insect issue in summer is real. But it is also minor.
The Olight Oclip Pro S is compact, powerful, clever and genuinely useful. If you camp, walk your dog, travel, or simply like practical everyday carry gear, this is a very easy product to recommend.

FAQ
-
Olight claims up to 80 hours on the lowest white light setting. In real use, with the brighter modes I used for dog walks and camping, I never ran out of battery during a full evening of use. USB-C charging makes topping it up easy.
-
It has an IPX6 rating, which means it can handle heavy rain and splashes without any problem. I wouldn't submerge it, but for camping, dog walking in the rain, and general outdoor use, it's well protected.

The Baton 4 is the better classic flashlight — powerful, solid in the hand, beautifully built. The Oclip Pro S is more versatile because of the clip. If you want hands-free light for camping, dog walking, or DIY, the Oclip Pro S is the better choice. If you want a more traditional torch experience, the Baton 4 still wins.

Yes. For evening dog walks, navigating a campsite, finding things in the dark, and general outdoor tasks, it's more than bright enough. It's not a searchlight — but it's not supposed to be. It's a practical, compact light that does its job very well.
