QCY Crossky C50 Review: Stylish Open-Ear Earbuds for Under $40
/Review: QCY Crossky C50 – Stylish Open-Ear Earbuds on a Budget
Disclaimer:
QCY kindly sent me the Crossky C50 for free, for review purposes. I’ve used it daily for around two weeks, and this review reflects my honest, personal experience. I will never recommend a product that I don’t genuinely like or that hasn’t worked for me. This post also contains affiliate links. Lately, I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing a few earbuds and headphones from the brand QCY, and I have to say—I’ve been nicely surprised by the sound quality, design, and features of each product. QCY has carved out a reputation for offering excellent tech at a price point that’s seriously competitive.
So when they sent me their latest earbuds, the QCY Crossky C50, for review purposes, I was more than happy to give them a go. I’ve been using them for a little over a week now during my daily walks, working from home, and even a few calls. Here are my thoughts.
First Impressions: Packaging & Design
The packaging is simple but clean—QCY’s branding has that youthful, minimal look I personally enjoy. But what really caught my attention is the charging case. It has a faux-leather texture that feels premium, with lovely handwritten branding on the front: Be Creative, Go Beyond. On the back, you’ll find the embossed QCY logo. It’s a small detail, but it gives the whole product a more fashion-forward, lifestyle vibe. I can definitely see QCY aiming at a customer base that values aesthetics as much as function—and honestly, they’ve nailed it here.
The case doesn’t support wireless charging (something to note), but it does come with a USB-C port. Opening and closing the case gives off a satisfying sound—like closing a small jewelry box—and inside you’ll find the unique open-ear earbuds.
Fit & Comfort: Best Yet from QCY?
The Crossky C50 uses a clever clip-on design with auto left/right detection, so no need to worry about which bud goes in which ear. You just pick them up and pop them on. I found them more comfortable than the earlier Crossky C30S—they’re more flexible, adapt better to your ear shape, and you can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Honestly, they might be the comfiest open-style earbuds I’ve ever tested in this price range.
Call Quality & Microphone
Calls? Super clear. I’ve taken quite a few calls using these while out with my dog or working from home, and I’ve been impressed with the four-mic setup and wind noise reduction. It’s not just marketing—it really works. For something under £30, the call clarity is surprisingly solid.
specs
Bluetooth 6.0 (ultra fast and stable connection)
Built in Bass Boost
IPX5 Water Resistance
Battery: Listen up to 7.5hours. Total 35 hours battery life with the charging case.
Sound Quality: Not Hi-Res, But Balanced Enough
Let’s talk sound. The previous Crossky C30S had Hi-Res Audio certification, which these don’t. QCY has instead focused on boosting the bass and volume. While it's hard to quantify that without side-by-side comparisons, I’ll be honest: the sound is fine. Don’t expect audiophile-level detail or booming bass, but for the price? They deliver a decent soundstage with enough bass to make music enjoyable, podcasts sound crisp, and calls come through clearly.
Personally, I think the C30S still has the edge in audio, especially since the price difference is minimal. But where the C50 wins is in comfort and design. The form factor is sleeker, the case is far more stylish, and if you're after a pair of open earbuds to wear all day while staying aware of your surroundings, these are perfect.
Final Verdict: Another Solid Entry from QCY
So, here we are—another lovely product from QCY. They’ve done a great job refining the comfort, making the design more appealing, and still offering great value for money. If you’re someone who walks, runs, or just wants a pair of casual earbuds for around the house that don’t block out the world, the QCY Crossky C50 might just be the ones for you.
I’ve got them in white (which actually looks more like an off-white with gold accents), and yes… I’ll say it again—the case is seriously stylish.
