I don’t know about you, but for me, my daily shower ritual is non-negotiable.

A morning shower is one of the best ways to start the day feeling fresh and awake, while a hot shower before bed can be just as good for clearing my head, washing the day away and getting ready for a decent night’s sleep.

I’m 52, but I’m still a huge fan of what I’d call an American college-style scent. You know the type: strong, fresh, clean, slightly sporty and ridiculously addictive. The sort of fragrance that makes you want to stay in the shower for another five minutes.

Over the years, I’ve tested a lot of body washes, but the five in this guide are the ones that really stand out to me.

And I’m quite particular about what makes a good one. I want a fresh, noticeable scent, plenty of lather, a proper deep-clean feeling and, most importantly, skin that feels soft afterwards rather than stripped or dry. I also love it when I can still catch the scent on my skin after I’ve stepped out of the shower.

So, these are my five favourite body washes for men in 2026, all available to buy in the US, including one you’ll find exclusively at Target.

Quick Verdict
My 5 Best Body Washes for Men in 2026
Best Overall Every Man Jack Baker Mayfield — my favourite right now. Super fresh, clean and easy to use every day. Tampa Two Coconut is the scent I enjoy most.
Best Morning Shower Duke Cannon THICK Midnight Swim — fresh, energetic and very masculine. Perfect when you want a proper wake-me-up shower.
Best All-in-One Brickell All in One Wash — the one for men who want to use a single product for body, face and hair. I’ve found it works well for all three.
Best Premium Blu Atlas Classic Body Wash — a more premium shower experience and an easy recommendation if you already like Blu Atlas.
Best for Soft Skin Geologie Superclean — the eucalyptus scent is powerful and completely different from the others, and it leaves my skin exceptionally smooth and soft.

1. Every Man Jack Baker Mayfield Tampa Two Coconut — Best Overall

Baker Mayfield is the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Every Man Jack created this limited-edition grooming collection with him around three signature scents.

Out of the three, Tampa Two Coconut is easily my favourite right now.

The other two scents are very good too, but this one is exceptional. It has exactly the kind of fragrance I love in a body wash: fresh, clean, masculine and strong enough to make the whole shower feel more energising.

I’ve been using it most mornings, and it has quickly become one of those products I genuinely look forward to using. The scent feels fresh without becoming too sweet or tropical, which can sometimes happen with coconut-based products.

The lather is excellent too. It foams up quickly, feels rich on the skin and gives me that proper deep-clean feeling I want first thing in the morning.

What impressed me most, though, is how my skin feels afterwards. Despite the strong cleansing feel, it doesn’t leave my skin dry or tight. My skin feels really soft and comfortable, which makes sense considering the formula uses coconut-based cleansers and glycerin to help retain moisture.

And the routine doesn’t quite stop when I leave the shower.

Once I’m dry, I’ve been using the matching Tampa Two Coconut deodorant, so the scent carries on rather than disappearing the moment I towel off.

For me, this is exactly what a great everyday body wash should do: it smells fantastic, lathers properly, cleans well and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Right now, Tampa Two Coconut is my favourite body wash in the Baker Mayfield collection — and my favourite overall in this Top 5.

It’s also excellent value. At just $8.49 for a 13.5 oz bottle at Target, this feels like one of those rare grooming products that delivers a genuinely premium shower experience without a premium price.

2. Duke Cannon THICK Body Wash Midnight Swim — Best for an Energising Morning Shower

This is a very close number two.

I’ve been a huge fan of Duke Cannon for years, and its THICK Body Wash range is fantastic. Midnight Swim was actually my previous favourite, and I still think it’s one of the best body washes you can buy if you like strong, masculine scents.

And when Duke Cannon says THICK, it really means it. The consistency is noticeably thicker than most body washes I use, and you don’t need a huge amount to produce a rich, satisfying lather.

The Midnight Swim scent combines sandalwood and lavender, but don’t expect anything floral or delicate. To me, it smells fresh, masculine and slightly aquatic, with enough depth to make it feel more interesting than a typical “fresh” shower gel.

Despite the name, I actually love using it in the morning. It has that energetic, clean feeling that wakes me up and makes a hot morning shower feel even better.

I also have to mention the packaging.

The photo I use here shows the previous Duke Cannon bottle design, and I’m sorry, Duke Cannon, but I still think the old packaging looked better! The newer design is perfectly fine, but the previous bottle had more personality and that slightly old-school masculine look that suited the brand so well.

Of course, that’s completely personal — and thankfully the body wash inside is what really matters.

It cleans extremely well, the lather is excellent, and the scent hangs around on my skin just enough after I’ve dried myself without interfering with whatever fragrance I decide to wear afterwards.

And then there’s the price.

At under $10, Midnight Swim represents incredible value for money. You get that unusually thick consistency, a genuinely distinctive scent and a shower experience that feels considerably more expensive than the price suggests.

Every Man Jack Tampa Two Coconut might be my current number one, but Duke Cannon Midnight Swim is very, very close behind.

3. Brickell 3-in-1 All in One Wash — Best All-in-One

Sometimes getting your skincare, shower and hair routine done at the same time just makes sense.

Especially in the morning when you’re running late.

That’s exactly where the Brickell 3-in-1 All in One Wash comes in. Instead of using a separate body wash, shampoo and face wash, this is designed to do all three jobs in the shower.

And surprisingly, it does them very well.

As a body wash, I think it’s excellent. It has a really pleasant scent, produces a good lather and leaves my skin feeling properly clean without feeling stripped afterwards.

But I actually enjoy using it on my hair just as much. It cleans well, rinses easily and leaves my hair feeling fresh without that overly harsh feeling you sometimes get from products trying to do too many things at once.

As a face wash, it does the job too. I still tend to prefer dedicated facial cleansers when I have more time, but on a busy morning, being able to wash my face, hair and body with one product is incredibly convenient.

It is also the most expensive body wash in this Top 5, so I don’t think it will make sense for everyone.

If you already enjoy having a separate shampoo, face wash and body wash, you probably don’t need it.

But if you want to simplify your morning routine and have one genuinely good product that can handle your hair, face and body, Brickell has done a very good job here.

For me, that versatility is what earns it a place in this list. Check my Brickell All in One review if you want to read more about it.

4. Blu Atlas Body Wash Classic — Best Premium Body Wash

Blu Atlas sits at the more premium end of this Top 5, but if you already know the brand, this Body Wash makes a lot of sense.

I’ve used quite a few Blu Atlas products over the years, including the shampoo and conditioner, and one thing the brand does particularly well is create products that feel like they belong together as part of a complete grooming routine.

The Classic scent is excellent. It combines bergamot, clary sage and patchouli and has that clean, sophisticated freshness I associate with Blu Atlas. It smells noticeably more refined than your typical supermarket body wash without becoming overpowering.

The formula is also refreshingly simple, with just 15 ingredients. Among the most important are coconut-derived cleansers, aloe vera, green tea extract, sugarcane extract and shea butter glycerides.

And on my skin, it works.

It cleans extremely well, rinses easily and leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable rather than tight or dry. The consistency is also very good — not too thick, not too runny — and you don’t need a huge amount for each shower.

It is more expensive than Every Man Jack or Duke Cannon, so if all you want is a cheap everyday body wash, this probably isn’t the one I’d choose.

But if you’re already a fan of Blu Atlas and want to build a complete daily routine with the shampoo, conditioner and body wash, I think this is an excellent addition.

It feels premium, smells fantastic and, most importantly, it’s very kind to my skin. I’ve also written a full Blu Atlas Body Wash review if you want to read more about my longer-term experience with it.

5. Geologie Superclean Body Wash Fresh Eucalyptus — Best for a Night-Time Shower

When I first tested Geologie skincare, I’ll admit I was a little disappointed.

Maybe their marketing had raised my expectations too high. Don’t get me wrong — the products I tried were good, but a few of them left me thinking I had expected a little more.

There was one product, though, that really stood out: the Geologie Superclean Body Wash in Fresh Eucalyptus.

This body wash feels completely different from the others in this Top 5. The texture is unusual, the lather feels great on the skin, and the eucalyptus scent is really powerful.

But powerful in a completely different way to something like Every Man Jack Tampa Two Coconut.

Tampa Two Coconut is bright, fresh and energetic — exactly the kind of scent I want first thing in the morning. Geologie's eucalyptus has a deeper, almost calming freshness to it.

For me, this is the perfect body wash for a night-time shower.

There’s something about that strong eucalyptus scent combined with a hot shower at the end of the day that just works. It feels refreshing, but at the same time it helps turn the shower into more of a relaxing ritual before bed.

And then there’s how my skin feels afterwards.

This is probably one of the best body washes in the entire list for leaving my skin feeling really smooth, soft and comfortable. There’s no dry or stripped feeling afterwards, which is especially important if, like me, you sometimes shower twice a day.

Geologie as a whole may not have completely lived up to my expectations when I first tested the brand, but this body wash absolutely did.

The Fresh Eucalyptus Superclean Body Wash is the Geologie product I’d happily buy again, and if you enjoy a strong eucalyptus scent, it offers a shower experience that is very different from everything else in this Top 5. I’ve also written a full Geologie Body Wash review if you want to read more about my longer-term experience with it.

Final Thoughts

A great body wash should do more than just get you clean. For me, it needs to smell fantastic, lather well, leave my skin soft and make the shower feel like something I actually look forward to.

Right now, Every Man Jack Tampa Two Coconut is my favourite, with Duke Cannon Midnight Swim very close behind. Brickell is the one I’d choose for convenience, Blu Atlas for a more premium routine, and Geologie for that powerful eucalyptus scent at night.

All five are very different, but I’d happily use any of them again.
