Why I Keep Using Roborock – And the Prime Day Deals I’d Actually Consider
Robot vacuum cleaners are one of those pieces of technology I was never completely convinced I needed. They look clever, the demonstrations are impressive, but when you live in a busy family home with children, a dog, carpets, rugs and hard floors, the real question is much simpler: do they actually make life easier?
After living with Roborock products, my answer is yes.
I have tested both the Roborock Saros 10 robot vacuum and mop and the Roborock F25 GT wet and dry vacuum, and both have ended up becoming part of my normal cleaning routine rather than products I used for a review and then forgot about.
That distinction matters to me.
There are plenty of expensive smart-home products that are interesting for a couple of weeks. Roborock has been different. I still use mine regularly because they genuinely save me time.
With Amazon Prime Big Deal Days running on October 6 and 7, there are also some substantial Roborock discounts appearing.
So rather than putting together another list of the “best robot vacuum deals”, I wanted to explain why I continue to use Roborock in my own house, and look at a few of the Prime Day models that have caught my attention.
1. The Cleaning Is Actually Good
This sounds obvious, but it is probably the most important point.
A robot vacuum can have the smartest app in the world, but if I have to vacuum the room again afterwards, there isn't much point.
I use my Roborock Saros 10 to vacuum and mop practically all of the downstairs of my house.
The living room has carpet and a large rug, while the hallway and kitchen have a vinyl/laminate-style hard floor. That gives the Saros 10 quite a mixture of surfaces to deal with during a normal cleaning cycle.
Then there is the dog.
Dog hair, dust, crumbs and the usual dirt that builds up in a busy family home are simply part of everyday life here.
The Saros 10 deals with all of it remarkably well. The carpet and rug are left properly vacuumed, while the vacuuming and mopping on the harder flooring through the hallway and kitchen have been excellent.
It has genuinely made my cleaning routine easier.
Roborock gives the Saros 10 22,000Pa of suction, together with its DuoDivide anti-tangle main brush and Reactive AI obstacle-recognition system.
Those specifications sound impressive, but what matters to me is what happens when the robot has finished: the floor actually looks clean.
You can read my full Roborock Saros 10 review if you want a much deeper look at how it performed in my home.
2. Roborock's App Is One of Its Biggest Strengths
The other thing that surprised me when I started using Roborock was the app.
It is excellent.
Robot vacuum apps can easily become unnecessarily complicated because there are so many things you can control: rooms, maps, suction levels, mopping, cleaning sequences, restricted areas and schedules.
Roborock manages to give you a huge amount of control without making the experience feel like work.
Once the house has been mapped, I can decide exactly what I want cleaned and how I want it cleaned.
That makes a significant difference to how often I use the machine.
I don't always want the entire downstairs cleaned. Sometimes it is the kitchen. Sometimes I want a full vacuum and mop. At other times I simply want the robot to deal with one particular area.
The app makes that effortless.
It is one of the reasons I rate Roborock so highly. Good hardware is important, but good software is what makes smart-home technology pleasant to live with.
3. The Sensors Are Incredibly Impressive
This is another area where I think paying more for a premium robot vacuum starts to make sense.
The Saros 10 doesn't just move randomly around the room until it eventually covers most of the floor.
It understands the room.
Roborock uses a combination of LiDAR, cameras and structured-light sensors on the Saros 10 to map and navigate around the home, while its retractable navigation system allows the robot to lower itself to get underneath lower furniture.
Watching it navigate around furniture and obstacles still impresses me.
And this is where build quality matters too.
The Saros 10 feels like a premium piece of technology. The dock looks good, the robot feels well built and the entire experience feels considerably more polished than simply buying a cheap robot vacuum and hoping for the best.
For something that is potentially moving around your home several times every week, reliability and navigation are important.
4. A Robot Vacuum Doesn't Replace Every Vacuum Cleaner
This is something I think is often missed when people discuss robot vacuums.
I love the Saros 10, but I still use the Roborock F25 GT.
They perform different jobs.
My Saros 10 is mainly responsible for keeping the downstairs consistently clean. The F25 GT gets used upstairs in the bathroom, but I also use it regularly in the kitchen when there are stains that need a little more attention.
For those situations, it does a really good job.
The advantage of having something like the F25 GT is that I can immediately deal with a mess myself rather than waiting for the robot's next cleaning cycle.
For me, they complement each other.
The Saros handles the routine cleaning almost invisibly in the background. The F25 GT is there when I need to tackle something directly.
That combination has probably changed the way I clean more than either product individually.
I've also written a complete review of the Roborock F25 GT if you're considering this type of wet and dry cleaner rather than a robot vacuum.
5. They Save Something More Valuable Than Electricity: Time
This is ultimately why I keep using Roborock.
I could vacuum the downstairs myself. Of course I could.
But while the Saros 10 is vacuuming and mopping, I can be doing something else.
That might be working, making dinner, taking the dog out or simply getting on with life.
And because starting a cleaning cycle requires almost no effort, the floors probably get cleaned more frequently too.
That is why I now look at a good robot vacuum slightly differently.
It isn't simply another appliance.
You're buying back some of your time.
And if you have children or pets, that becomes particularly valuable because floors rarely stay clean for very long.
The Roborock App is fantastic!
Roborock is expensive.
The best Roborock products are expensive.
Some of the flagship models cost considerably more than a conventional vacuum cleaner, and I completely understand why someone might look at the price and decide that vacuuming manually isn't so bad after all.
It is also why events such as Prime Day become interesting.
And there are a few Roborock Prime Day deals this year that I think are genuinely interesting.
✓ One of the best robot vacuum apps I've used
✓ Impressive navigation and obstacle detection
✓ Works very well across carpets, rugs and hard floors
✓ A real time-saver in a busy home
✓ Premium build quality and design
– Larger docks need a fair amount of space
– Floors still need to be reasonably clear of small objects
– Brushes, mop pads and docks need occasional maintenance
– A robot won't completely replace a handheld or wet/dry vacuum
Roborock Saros Z70 – The One I Really Want to Try
This is probably the Roborock that fascinates me most.
The Saros Z70 has Roborock's OmniGrip mechanical arm.
Yes, a robot vacuum now has an arm.
The five-axis mechanical arm can interact with small objects rather than simply navigating around everything lying on the floor. Roborock combines it with its StarSight navigation system and 22,000Pa suction.
I think this is such a clever idea.
My immediate thought was my children's bedrooms upstairs.
Anyone with children knows what a bedroom floor can look like. Clothes, socks and small objects somehow migrate onto the floor even when there is a perfectly good wardrobe only a few feet away.
A robot that can start dealing with some of those obstacles rather than simply avoiding them takes home robotics in a very interesting direction.
I haven't tested the Saros Z70, so I can't tell you how useful the arm becomes over several months of ownership. But technologically, I love the idea.
And Prime Day makes this particular model much more interesting.
At the time of writing, Roborock's US has the Saros Z70 at 50% off!
Roborock H60 Hub Ultra – For People Who Don't Want a Robot
Not everyone wants a robot vacuum.
Perhaps you live in a smaller apartment. Maybe there isn't a good place for a large robot dock. Or perhaps you simply prefer vacuuming yourself.
That's why I think the H60 Hub range makes a lot of sense.
The Amazon model I've been looking at is the H60 Hub Ultra, which combines a cordless stick vacuum with an automatic emptying dock.
The Ultra model offers up to 210AW of suction and automatically empties the vacuum when it is returned to its dock.
This is convenience without handing the cleaning completely over to a robot.
I can see this working particularly well for someone living alone in an apartment.
You grab it, quickly vacuum the apartment, put it back on the dock and the dust is automatically transferred out of the vacuum.
Simple. For plenty of people, something like the H60 Hub Ultra could actually be the more sensible purchase.
Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro – A Very Interesting Middle Ground
The Qrevo 2 Pro is another model worth watching during Prime Big Deals. This is where Roborock's range gets interesting because you begin getting technology that feels very close to flagship territory without necessarily paying flagship money.
The Qrevo 2 Pro features Roborock's dual anti-tangle system, powerful suction, automatic mop removal for carpets and a multifunctional dock.
The automatic mop removal is particularly useful if your house has a combination of carpet and hard flooring because the robot can leave its wet mop pads behind when they aren't required.
Its design is also quite distinctive compared with many robot vacuum cleaners.
I haven't tested the Qrevo 2 Pro personally, so I'm not going to tell you that it is better than my Saros 10.
What interests me is how much of the premium Roborock experience has now moved further down the range.
If spending close to $1,000 on the Z70 feels excessive, the Qrevo 2 Pro may be the more rational choice.
What About the Roborock Saros 10?
Despite all these newer models, I still love my Saros 10.
That probably tells you more than another list of specifications could.
I have used it in my own home, on my own floors, around my dog and with the everyday mess that comes with family life.
It works.
The cleaning is excellent, the sensors are superb, the build quality feels premium and the app remains one of my favourite things about using it.
I don't feel any urgent need to replace it simply because Roborock has launched something newer.
And that is actually one of the better compliments I can give a piece of technology.
Should You Buy a Roborock During Prime Day?
If you have been thinking about buying a Roborock and the model you want has a substantial discount, I would seriously consider it.
My experience with Roborock has been extremely positive. The products are practical, beautifully designed and feel genuinely premium, but more importantly they make keeping the house clean considerably easier.
Having a dog hasn't changed my opinion either. If anything, pet hair is one of the reasons I appreciate having the Saros 10 running regularly. Add children, carpets, rugs and hard floors into the mix, and it has proved itself in a very normal, busy family home.
For me, Prime Big Deal Days is probably one of the best times to buy a Roborock, particularly when some of the more expensive models receive substantial discounts.
After living with Roborock products, I genuinely think they are one of the best investments you can make if you want to make cleaning easier. The cleaning performance is excellent, the app is incredibly well designed, and everything from the navigation and sensors to the build quality has the premium feel I expect at this price.
And there is one feature I haven't mentioned enough: voice control.
It sounds like a small thing until you start using it. Being able to tell the robot to start cleaning without even reaching for your phone makes the whole experience feel even more effortless. For me, it is a game changer and another reason why a good robot vacuum becomes part of your everyday routine rather than another smart-home gadget you eventually stop using.
If you've been considering a Roborock for a while and the model you want is heavily discounted during Prime Big Deal Days, this is the moment I would look seriously at buying one.
I certainly wouldn't want to go back to doing all of that cleaning myself.
