Action cameras have traditionally been associated with extreme sports and adventure. Ahead of IFA 2026 in Berlin, SJCAM is taking a different approach with the C400 Pro and compact S10.

Both cameras are designed around everyday POV recording, from travel and family trips to daily vlogs and social content. The idea is simple: capture more of what is happening around you without constantly holding a smartphone.

The SJCAM C400 Pro Takes a More Modular Approach

The C400 Pro is the larger and more versatile of the two cameras.

It uses a 1/1.8-inch image sensor and records video at up to 4K at 30fps, with a wide 160-degree field of view. SJCAM has also equipped it with its SteadyMotion V2.0 stabilisation system, designed to smooth out movement and vibration while filming.

What makes the C400 Pro particularly interesting is its modular design.

The camera can be used in a more traditional handheld setup, but it can also switch into a smaller POV-style configuration when you want something more discreet and hands-free.

That flexibility could make a lot of sense for travel and everyday filming. You can use a conventional setup when you need more control, then move to a lightweight POV arrangement when you simply want to record what is happening around you.

When paired with its handheld controller, SJCAM says the C400 Pro can provide up to five hours of continuous recording.

The camera is also compatible with the optional SJCAM M4 wireless microphone, giving vloggers and content creators a way to improve audio quality without relying entirely on the camera's built-in microphone.

The Tiny SJCAM S10 Is Perhaps the More Interesting Concept

For me, the S10 is probably the more intriguing of the two cameras.

At just 45g, it is designed specifically as a tiny wearable POV camera. It can be clipped onto clothing, attached to a backpack strap or even mounted on a pet harness, allowing the camera to record without the user having to hold anything.

Despite its small size, the S10 records video at up to 4K/30fps and also uses SJCAM's SteadyMotion V2.0 stabilisation.

The whole idea is to make the camera small enough that you can almost forget it is there.

That could be particularly useful for family days out, travel videos or simply recording everyday moments where taking out a smartphone changes the experience.

There is, however, an obvious challenge with cameras this small: framing your shot.

SJCAM's solution is an optional accessory called the Boost Pod. This adds a flip-up display for live previews and touchscreen controls, while also extending the battery life to as much as 240 minutes.

The S10 also includes a Seamless Vertical Mode, allowing it to record native 9:16 footage designed for platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok.

That says quite a lot about where SJCAM sees this camera fitting into the market.

This is not simply a miniature action camera. It is a camera designed around the way people are increasingly creating and sharing video.

Action Cameras Are Becoming Something Different

For years, action cameras were mainly sold around extreme sports and adventure. But smaller wearable cameras are opening the category up to more everyday uses.

The appeal is not really about replacing your smartphone. It is about capturing a different perspective while keeping your hands free.

SJCAM calls this the Everyday POV Camera: a small camera you can wear, clip onto clothing or attach to a bag, making it easier to record travel, family life and everyday moments without constantly holding a phone.

SJCAM will showcase the C400 Pro and S10 at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where visitors will be able to see how the two cameras fit into different styles of everyday filming.

The company plans to demonstrate quick-mount setups, wireless audio integration and vertical video workflows, highlighting how both cameras can move beyond the traditional action-camera format.

The C400 Pro is the more versatile option, while the much smaller S10 is clearly aimed at people who want something lightweight, wearable and easy to use throughout the day.

That is perhaps the most interesting part of SJCAM's approach. Rather than trying to reinvent the action camera around more extreme specifications, the company is focusing on making POV video easier to use in ordinary situations.

Whether that is travelling, creating social content, filming family life or simply capturing a moment without holding a phone, the C400 Pro and S10 show how the action-camera category is starting to evolve.
