Bulldog Deodorant Review: I expected more to be honest!
As you know I am a big fan of Bulldog Skincare for Men. I love their products, they are made with natural ingredients, vegan friendly and smell great. So I was very excited when I saw the new deodorant stick at my local Tesco. I purchased one (not cheap..£5.00) and tried it for a few weeks. Here is my review.
So….should you buy it?
Talking about sweat: What type of guy am I?
This is very important question because some have serious issues with sweat and the opinion of this product can vary depending on what you need from a deodorant. I don’t sweat a lot, in fact you will never see me with a wet patch under my arms.
The good thing with Bulldog is that every product from the “Original” range has a similar packaging, colour scheme etc… The plastic used is strong but there is no cap to put on top of the deodorant (as other products do), only the lid. It doesn’t really bother me but I know that for some it could be a deal breaker.
The first thing you will notice is that the fragrance used is exactly the same as the one used in the “Original” skincare range. Personally I think that’s great news because I love the smell. It is really easy to apply under the armpit, but if you put a bit too much it could leave white marks under the arm, which is an issue on clothes because it’s very hard to clean!. I didn’t get any skin irritation or experience discomfort under my arm, but somehow I never felt fresh (like when I use a roll on). I find the product a bit sticky too. Overall after applying, it didn’t feel amazing, fresh or clean.
Does it work?
Personally I have an issue with this product. I have to reapply it 2 or 3 times a day, if not I have noticed that I start to feel a bit uncomfortable and not that fresh anymore. I’ve even noticed some odours in the early morning after a nights sleep (I apply deodorant before going to bed). For me that’s very surprising because I never have smelly issues. Personally I think that this product is not working and I am a guy with very little sweat problems so I can’t imagine what the result would be on guys that sweat a lot!
I love the fragrance, the packaging and the fact it uses natural products, but unfortunately I don’t think it is doing what it is supposed to do. At £5.00 I find it expensive too but if you are a die hard Bulldog fan, you should try it because maybe it will be OK for you. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me and I expected more from Bulldog this time. So I am going back to Mitchum deodorant which I think is still one of the best I have ever used. I also recommend: Uproar Men’s Natural Deodorant
