Manspot Body Hair Trimmer – My Long-Term Experience

The Manspot is the more expensive of the two trimmers, priced at around $40, and straight away it feels like a premium product. It’s compact, extremely well made, and finished in a soft, rubbery matte black material that gives it a very secure, comfortable grip in the hand, especially important when grooming sensitive areas.

Ergonomically, Manspot gets things right. It’s lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, and feels very natural to use, even in awkward or hard-to-reach areas. The controls couldn’t be simpler: one button, on and off. Swapping the adjustable combs is quick and intuitive.

In day-to-day use, this is the trimmer I reach for most often. I regularly use it for my armpits, where it does a clean, even job without pulling or irritation. I’ve also used it occasionally on my beard for quick tidy-ups, although it’s clearly not designed to replace a proper beard trimmer.

Where the Manspot really shines is intimate grooming. I’ve been trimming and shaving my pubic hair for over 25 years, so I know what works and what can go wrong in that area. The Manspot performs extremely well here. I use it to keep pubic hair neat and short and to shave my balls completely smooth, and I’ve never experienced a cut or nick.

The shortest comb is ideal for achieving a very neat, short trim around the pubic area. The lightweight design makes it easy to stay in control, which is crucial for confidence when grooming intimate areas.

Battery life is also very good, and charging is fast enough that it never feels like a limitation.

Maxgroom Manscape Body Hair Trimmer – My Real-World Experience

Priced at around $30, the Maxgroom Manscape Body Hair Trimmer is one of the most complete and versatile body hair trimmers I’ve tested in years.

In the box, you get the trimmer, a pouch, a USB-C charging cable, and four different attachments, each designed for a specific grooming task. It’s clearly built with versatility in mind.

The design is very different from Manspot. It’s longer and thinner, with glossy plastics rather than a matte finish, so it doesn’t feel quite as premium, but it’s still comfortable to hold. One feature I really like is the digital battery indicator, which is genuinely useful.

The first thing I noticed when I powered it on was the motor power. It’s significantly stronger, which makes a big difference if you have thicker hair or more hair across your body.

The attachment system is where Maxgroom really shines. The nose and ear trimmer is excellent and very easy to use, something many men appreciate more as they get older. The beard trimmer head also performs very well. I keep my beard short, and Maxgroom does an outstanding job here.

There’s also a shaver head, but this is the weakest part of the package. I only shave my neck and cheek lines, and even then, I didn’t find it very effective. I wouldn’t recommend buying Maxgroom as a face shaver.

The real star of the show is the V-shaped blade. Combined with the powerful motor, it makes trimming and shaving incredibly easy. I use it regularly on my chest, armpits, pubic hair, bum, shoulders, and lower back. With a bit of patience, even shaving the full back is possible something I simply can’t do comfortably with more compact trimmers.

If there’s one reason to buy the Maxgroom, it’s this blade. It turns it into a true all-in-one grooming tool.

Final Verdict: Which One Should You Choose?

Both body hair trimmers delivered great results, but they are designed for very different needs.

If you don’t have a lot of body hair and mainly want to keep your pubic hair and chest tidy, short, and safe, the Manspot is the one to go for. The build quality is excellent, it’s extremely easy to use, and it feels very reassuring in intimate areas.

If you’re more hairy and need to groom multiple areas of your body, while still keeping safety a priority for pubic grooming, the Maxgroom Manscape Body Hair Trimmer is the better choice. It’s powerful, versatile, and the V-shaped blade is genuinely excellent. It covers almost every part of the body (I didn’t test it on my legs), and it’s one of the most capable all-in-one trimmers I’ve used.
